7th March 1814 – Campaign Diary

Macdonald defeats Blucher at Elsdorf and the Prussians retreat towards Solingen
Victor attacks the Russians at Oppenheim, French lose and retreat
 Schwargzenberg attacks Molsheim, defeats Mortier and takes the town
The Bavarians win the Atkirch phase of the campaign
The British win the St Jean phase of the campaign
First French and Prussian Army
Three French corps attack two Prussian corps at Elsdorf
Prussians retreat towards Solingen
French lose 2800 infantry
Prussians lose 7200 infantry and 100 cavalry, plus 100 gunners and 3 guns
Second French and Russian Army
Russians win battle of Oppenheim
10th French corps have orders to attack 1st Russian corps at Oppenheim
They are unaware that 4th Russian corps are within supporting distance
French lose 800 infantry and 200 cavalry
Russians lose 400 infantry and 100 cavalry
Third French and Austrian Army

Austrians win battle of Molesheim
All four Austrian corps have orders to attack Molesheim
French lose 10,000 infantry and 200 cavalry plus 200 gunners and 6 guns
Austrians lose 8,800 infantry and 300 cavalry plus 200 gunners and 6 guns
Fourth French and Bavarian Army
Bavarians win the Atkirch phase of the campaign
Fifth French and British Army
British have won the St Jean phase of the campaign
Sixth French and Spanish Army
Spanish advance north and make contact with the French
