18th March 1814 – Campaign Diary

First French and Prussian start the Roermond phase of the campaign
The battle of Irun is a draw and both Wellington and Soult withdraw 

First French and Prussian Army
Deployment of both armies at the start of the Roermond Phase
Second French and Russian Army
Both armies are advancing towards each other
However they are still too far apart to have any contact
Third French and Austrian Army
Both armies are marching towards Cirey
The Austrians have established a cavalry screen either side of the town
The cavalry retreated as the two French corps approached
Fourth French and Bavarian Army
Both armies have spent the day resting, resupplying and reorganising
They are in contact, but neither side has made any effort to engage the other
Fifth French and British Army
Four British attack four French corps just west of Irun
The result of the battle is a draw, both sides withdraw
French lose 6800 infantry, 200 cavalry and 6 guns
British lose 5200 infantry and 100 cavalry
Sixth French and Spanish Army
Neither the French nor the main Spanish Armies are in contact
However the guerrilla bands report that the French are marching south
They report two French corps approaching Gerona.
