3rd April 1814 – Campaign Diary

Prussians lose Roermond phase of campaign
Russians and Second French rest of resupply
Austrians and Third French both advance and meet at Luneville
Bavarians and Fourth French both halt and resupply
British defeat Fifth French at Mondragon
Spanish and Sixth French both halt and resupply
First French and Prussian Army
The French have occupied Roermond and forced the Prussians to retreat to the east bank of the river Maas.   However Napoleon is concerned that they are too far east, and ordered them to retreat towards the river Mosel.
Second French and Russian Army
Both armies rest, regroup and resupply
Third French and Austrian Army
Both armies advance, first contact is at Luneville
Fourth French and Bavarian Army
Both armies halt, resupply and reorganise
Fifth French and British Army
French attack British at Mondragon
British 31,600 infantry, 1,900 cavalry, 90 guns
French 22,800 infantry, 2000 cavalry, 60 guns
French lose and retreat


Sixth French and Spanish Army
Both armies halt and resupply
